Sue Budjac, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Mid-State Technical College (MSTC), is the recipient of the 2009 Eagle Award. The Eagle Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership on behalf of the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS). Budjac received the award July 14 during a WTCS Instructional Services Administrators meeting, held in La Crosse.
According to John Clark, MSTC President, Budjac is a worthy recipient of this year’s annual statewide award. “Evidence of Sue’s strong and effective leadership is clear and convincing.” As MSTC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, Budjac is the chief academic officer responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling the College’s entire educational function. Clark said he was not surprised to learn that Budjac would be recognized with the prestigious Eagle Award. “Sue deals with difficult issues in a straightforward, diplomatic manner. As a result, she is able to influence positive change. She is a leader others want to follow.”
In addition to earning a doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership, Budjac graduated from the Wisconsin Leadership Development Institute (WLDI) in 1996 and has served as a mentor to numerous institute graduates. Her list of personal and professional accomplishments include: Board President, United Way of Inner Wisconsin; Board of Directors, Wisconsin Women in Higher Education Leadership; Board of Directors, Saint Michael’s Hospital Foundation; Board Secretary, Wisconsin Rapids Noon Rotary Club; and a Paul Harris Award Recipient. |
