WISCONSIN RAPIDS - Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) will host World of Corrections Career Day Thursday, April 3 from 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Wisconsin Rapids campus, 500 32nd Street North. During this unique career exploration event, participants will learn about the vast employment opportunities in the corrections field. Activities include interactive breakout sessions, hands-on demonstrations, job fair, door prizes and a tour of the college's recently remodeled secure detention facility that includes leading edge technology.
According to Barb Jascor, Criminal Justice-Corrections Instructor, while corrections officers are professionals dedicated to public safety and who make a difference every day, the corrections field is not limited to officers and includes a variety of occupations programs. "I encourage students and graduates from the medical, maintenance, information technology, food service, administration and counseling fields to explore the many career opportunities at corrections facilities." Jascor added that while this event is targeted to college students, World of Corrections Day is open to high school students as well as the general public. A complimentary lunch will be provided to all who pre-register for MSTC's World of Corrections Career Day.
