New Employees at MSTC

WISCONSIN RAPIDS-Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) has hired eleven new employees: Terry Borchardt, Gina Brandl, Bryn Crandell, Kathryn Doar, Jacki King, Megan Kundinger, Troy Martin, Janet Newman, Julanne Ranek-Stoltz, Jon Steele and Anna Wong.

Terry Borchardt

Borchardt, Appleton, is an Accounting Instructor. He served as Vice President and Treasurer at Riverside Paper Corporation in Appleton and Corporate Treasurer at Wormald Americas, Inc. in Marinette. He was also a financial planner and tax consultant for five years and is a Certified Public Accountant. Most recently, he was a business education instructor in Wisconsin high schools. Borchardt earned a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Western Michigan University and a Master's Degree in Finance from Michigan State University.

 
Gina Brandl

Brandl, Arpin, is a Nursing Instructor. She has eighteen years experience as a registered nurse in surgical intensive care and other specialty settings at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. For the past six years, she was a nursing supervisor at the hospital. Recently, she served as an adjunct nursing instructor at MSTC and Marian College. Brandl earned an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Northcentral Technical College and a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Nursing.

 
Bryn Crandell

Crandell, Plover, is a Service & Health Division Associate Dean. He has management responsibility for development, coordination and supervision of fire training and emergency management educational activities. He is retired from the United States Air Force after a twenty-one year career in fire protection services, instruction, instructional supervision and management. In addition to his teaching experience at the Department of Defense Fire Academy, he was an adjunct instructor at Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. Crandell earned an Associate's Degree in Fire Science from the Community College of the Air Force, a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science Occupational Education from Wayland Baptist University and a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in E-Learning from Touro University International. Crandell also holds professional certifications from the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress, the Department of Defense and the National Fire Academy.

 
Kathryn Doar

Doar, Stevens Point, is an Information Technology-Network Specialist Instructor. She has twenty-one years of experience in public education in Wisconsin. For the past four years, she was the network administrator for the School District of Jefferson where she had district-wide responsibility for network administration and all technology implementation. Prior to that, she held administrative positions at both the School Districts of Jefferson and Sevastopol. Doar earned a CIS-Network Specialist Associate Degree from MATC-Madison and a Bachelor's Degree in Technology Management from Herzing College. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Educational Technology.

 
Jacki King

King, Marshfield, is the Medical Transcription Instructor. She has served as a medical transcriptionist for eighteen years in various healthcare systems in Wisconsin and Sioux City, IA. For the past five years, she was an adjunct instructor at Gateway Technical College where she taught medical office-related courses. King completed the Medical Coding program with the American Health Information Management Association and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Career, Technical Education and Training from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. She is a Certified Medical Transcriptionist and a Certified Coding Associate.


 
Megan Kundinger

Kundinger, Auburndale, is an Academic Support Center/General Education Instructor. Most recently, she was a laboratory technician in the Veterinary Science Lab at Marshfield Clinic Laboratories. Prior to that, she was a research assistant at Texas A&M University and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She previously served as an adjunct instructor at MSTC, the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County and Texas A&M University. Kundinger earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biotechnology with minors in Biology, Chemistry and Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and a Master's Degree in Microbial Genetics and Pathogenesis from Texas A&M University.

 
Troy Martin

Martin, Vesper, is a Counselor and provides services to students primarily at the Stevens Point and Marshfield campuses. Previously, he was the school counselor in the Pittsville School District for three years. Prior to that, he provided community counseling in the position of transitional services coordinator with the Wisconsin Rapids Family Center. He has also served as a part-time instructor in the Neillsville, Pittsville and Wisconsin Rapids School Districts. Martin earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

 
Janet Newman

Newman, Wausau, is a Service & Health Division Associate Dean. She is responsible for coordinating and supervising the allied health and service programs on the Marshfield campus. She has taught at the high school level and lectured in the University of Wisconsin System. She was the public information manager and director of continuing education at UW-Marathon County and at Northcentral Technical College she held the positions of Learning Team Leader, Vice President for Learning and Director. She was also the executive director of the YWCA of Wausau for six years. Newman earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from Winona State University and a Master's Degree n Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.


 
Julanne Ranek-Stoltz

Ranek-Stoltz, Wisconsin Rapids, is as a Counselor. She provides services to students primarily at the Stevens Point campus. Previously, she worked at the State of Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation as a vocational rehabilitation counselor. Before that, she was a school guidance counselor for eight years in public schools in the Milwaukee area and also provided community counseling at Associated Employee Assistance Services and at St. Michael's Hospital as a temporary chaplain. Ranek-Stoltz earned a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in Developmental Guidance Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin.

 
Jon Steele

Steele, Plover, is a Marketing and Business Instructor at the Stevens Point campus. He has over six years of sales and marketing team management experience. Most recently, he was sales manager at Realityworks, Inc. in Eau Claire. Before that, he was national account manager, inside sales manager and marketing operations manager at Sagent and QMSoft, Inc. in Colorado and Florida. He has taught business courses for Lakeland College and was an instructor with the Nova Group in Japan. Steele earned Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Information Technology from the University of South Florida.

 
Anna Wong

Wong, Wisconsin Rapids, is the Library Services Manager. She has college-wide responsibility for the management of print, audio, visual and electronic learning resources. Most recently, she was employed at the University of Kansas Library and was an assistant manager at the Johnson County Library in Kansas. Prior to that, she was a reference librarian at Bristol Community College and Fall River Public Library in Massachusetts. Wong earned a Master's Degree in Library & Information Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Philosophy in Chinese Studies from the University of Hong Kong, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language & Literature from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
