MARSHFIELD - Mid-State
Technical College (MSTC) will host an open house at its Marshfield
Campus, 2600 W. 5th Street, Thursday, October 11 from 4-7
p.m. The event is open to the public and area residents are
encouraged to visit MSTC's remodeled and expanded facilities.
The construction project includes a 15,000-square-foot building
remodel and a 7,000-square-foot building addition.
The expanded campus space includes a new multi-discipline
health lab, a human patient simulator lab, two classrooms
and a new respiratory therapist lab. Additionally, the remodeled
space will house emergency medical services, science and surgical
technology labs. During the Open House, campus staff will
be onsite to provide guided tours and explain how the spaces
are being used.
Demonstrations in the Surgical Technology, Respiratory Therapy,
Medical Assistant and Emergency Medical Services areas will
be held every half hour beginning at 4:30 p.m. and ending
at 6:30 p.m. These demonstrations will include high-tech equipment
such as the electronic patient record software.
The MSTC Foundation will host a hospitality area with refreshments.
Open House attendees may also qualify to win a gift basket
by filling out a brief survey card and dropping it off in
the hospitality room. Staff will be on hand to answer questions
about the programs and services offered at MSTC's Marshfield
campus including the three, new associate degrees: Laboratory
Science Technician, Clinical Research Coordinator and Biomedical
Informatics Technician.
