MSTC Hosts Healthy Connections Day - Public Invited

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) will host the second annual Healthy Connections event at its Wisconsin Rapids campus Monday, April 9 from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. Open to the public and free of charge, MSTC Student Affairs staff organize the event to promote healthy behaviors in students. Healthy Connections activities include exhibit booths and hands-on demonstrations. Exhibitors will provide information about local services for free and reduced rates, as well as healthy choices in physical activity, mental health, nutrition and sexual behavior. Informational topics include health and fitness assessments, how to begin and maintain a healthy lifestyle and how to manage stress. Healthy Connections activities includes a coed volleyball tournament, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Gymnasium. The student group, CRU, is sponsoring the tournament to benefit the Family Center.

Healthy Connections Event Details:
9:00-10:00 a.m.: Wendi Fox presents Alcohol and the Insanity – Auditorium

Wendi Fox is known nationwide for her "Alcohol Insanity Tour." While working as a stand-up comedian in the college market, Wendi realized that her personal alcohol related stories were having an impact on how people were addressing the issues of alcohol abuse and addiction.
