MSTC Foundation Awards $28,500 to Continuing Students
WISCONSIN RAPIDS–The Mid-State Technical College Foundation awarded $28,500 to MSTC continuing students. Fifteen scholarships with a value of $1,500 each were awarded to full-time students enrolled in an Associate Degree or Technical Diploma program and twelve scholarships with a value of $500 each were awarded to part-time students. Students’ program name, student name and community of residence follow:

Full-Time Scholarships at $1,500 each
  Accounting: Tanya Moore, Marshfield.
  Automotive Technician: Laura Thiel, Friendship.
  Business Administration: Lisa Slaby, Plover; Katie Adams, Rib Lake; and Jessica Jelinski, Wisconsin Rapids.
  Cosmetology & Barbering: Megan Christopherson, Stevens Point.
  Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement: Dustin Gessert, Wisconsin Rapids.
  IT-Programmer/Analyst: Stephanie Parker, Stevens Point.
  Medical Assistant: Nicole Peters, Stevens Point.
  Nursing: Stephanie Stieglitz, Greenwood.
  Respiratory Therapist: Andrew Miller, Wisconsin Rapids.
  Supervisory Management: Stephanie Mulderink, Dorchester; and Lila Mannigel, Spencer.
  Surgical Technologist: Afsaneh Hosseini-Tabrizi, Friendship.
  Urban Forestry Technician: Jeremy Meverdeen, Wittenberg.
   
Part-time Scholarships at $500 each
  Accounting: Susan Strautmann, Friendship.
  Business Administration: Kimberly Rome, Stevens Point.
  Medical Assistant: Mandi Elton, Marshfield.
  Nursing: Deirdre Beatty, Nekoosa; Kaye Andreae, Spencer; Sheryl Jewell, Stevens Point; Susan Eidson, Karen Zwicke and Judith Pahl, Wisconsin Rapids.
  Practical Nursing: Donna Szymanski, Wisconsin Rapids.
  Respiratory Therapist: Sharon Dvoran, Vesper.
  Supervisory Management: Kiersten Blenker, Stevens Point.
   
Scholarship recipients were selected by the MSTC Scholarship Selection Committee. Students’ academic achievements, financial need, extracurricular activities and responses to essay questions were reviewed and assessed by the committee. Established in 1979, the MSTC Foundation partners with donors to support and strengthen the college’s role in serving the educational needs of central Wisconsin residents.
